My name is Muhammad Khattak. Presently, I am a sophomore at CCNY, majoring in Biochemistry. I am striving to immerse myself in all that this great city has to offer. While walking around campus, I have been stopping more than usual, standing to take it all in, and talk to passing friends. As I flashback my first semester, I am caught up in a wave of emotion. I feel happy, blessed, thankful, and proud of the friends and memories I have made thus far. Still, I am discovering the lifestyle of a young adult, as well as, learning how to develop a professional career. My goal in life is to always love what I am doing. This includes my education and work — I want to love it all.
It’s funny to look back at high school, experiencing major senioritis as I was about to graduate. I almost did not attend CCNY. I was torn between Ithaca College and Geneseo University, and my decision was not made until April 30th (the day before decisions were due). I was definitely throwing caution to the wind, but I am glad I did not have many expectations going in. CCNY blew me away, amazed at how easy the transition actually was. Before long, I had a big group of friends that I hung out with most of my time. We did all kinds of shenanigans together. Eventually, I buckled down and learned how to study.
It has been a crazy adventure, yet this only the beginning!
